Long Title:
A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO INCREASE AVAILABILITY OF COMPUTER PROJECTION TECHNOLOGY AT D.H. HILL LIBRARY'S LEARNING COMMONS
Summary of Purpose:
WHEREAS, the Student Organization Resource Center says there is a known demand from the student body for computer projectors; and, WHEREAS, computer projector equipment is currently available for education majors at the College of Education Media Center in Poe hall; and, WHEREAS, the libraries have the policy, procedures, and staffing already in place to facilitate the lending of projector equipment; and, WHEREAS, Joe Sevits, an NCSU Library Associate for Student Engagement, received a two confirmations that the Library will provide the staff support for lending projectors out (under the existing 24-hour tech lending service), the IT expertise for selecting the projector model(s), and the financial support to maintain and replace projector equipment; and, WHEREAS, the Libraries cannot immediately serve this demand with their lending programs under current budget constraints; and, WHEREAS, adding this lending service would not place a significant burden on our resources or require lengthy delays prior to implementation; now therefore be it, RESOLVED, that that the NCSU Student Senate hereby acquire 6 computer projectors from NCSU Materials Support Surplus; and be it further, RESOLVED, this equipment is issued to the library's lending service; and be it further, RESOLVED, that it is recommended that the Libraries feature projectors on the electronic displays in the library; and be it further, RESOLVED, that it is recommended that the Libraries add projectors to tech lending publicity throughout the Libraries website.
