A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AS SENATE HISTORIAN QUALIFICATIONS
Summary of Purpose:
With the difficulty in work/life balance between high academic standards, being appointed/elected as a Student Senator, and the appointment of various senate committees can be overwhelming in duties to further enhance the Student Government historical records and archives. That this position could be best served by talented member of the student body without having to be a standing member of the Student Senate. The Senate recommends amendment to the current NC State University Student Body Statute Chapter 2, Rule 22(h) to read Historian. The President shall appoint from the membership of the Student Body of NC State University a Historian, subject to the majority approval of the Senate, who shall keep an accurate record of the corrected journal and all legislation considered, and prepare the Student Government Yearbook, as specified by statute.

WHEREAS,    The NC State University Student Body Statutes Chapter 2, Rule 22 identifies officers of the NC State Student Senate; and,

 

WHEREAS,    currently Statute Chapter 2, Rule 22(h) reads; Historian. The President shall appoint from the membership of the Senate a Historian, who shall keep an accurate record of the corrected journal and all legislation considered, and prepare the Student Government Yearbook, as specified by statute. now therefore be it,

 

RESOLVED,  with the difficulty in work/life balance between high academic standards, being appointed/elected as a Student Senator, and the appointment of various senate committees can be overwhelming in duties to further enhance the Student Government historical records and archives. That this position could be best served by talented member of the student body without having to be a standing member of the Student Senate, and be it further,
