I. Introductions
Arialle: I would like to limit the conversation of this meeting to discussion on the current ticketing policy.
II. Ticketing Changes/ Suggestions
Morgan: One of the problems with ticketing appears to be that groups have made it difficult for individuals to receive tickets. Due to the fact that groups are no longer relevant since football games switched to general emission, limiting or abolishing groups seems like a reasonable solution.
Also, group leaders should have to approve the individuals who sign-up under his/her group.
Jim: Dick Christy said that the purpose of groups is to increase attendance at smaller games. Athletics is willing to look at limiting the size of groups or averaging the loyalty points of individuals within groups.
Jeffery (Athletic Commissioner): One thing I would like us to remember is that this is a new system. We can not make rash decisions. Seniors and Juniors still received the largest number of tickets in distribution, and individuals who received tickets are very grateful.
Guest Comments:
Holland Batten, PAMS junior: I am upset that the ticketing system has given groups president over individual students. I am a junior who has faithfully attended previous football games, but I did not receive a ticket. I do not see the point of allowing large groups to get president in ticketing, especially since the tickets are general emission.
Closing statements:
Arialle: Overall this meeting has shown that we have questions about the new ticketing system that need to be addressed, but we do not want to make hasty decisions. We will research the possibility of implementing these suggestions within the system, and attempt to answer the questions we have formulated tonight. I would like everyone to be sure to emphasize to students that this is a lottery system. Tickets are not guaranteed to students with the most loyalty points, they are just more likely to receive a ticket.
III. Elect Secretary
Sarah Center was voted to be Campus Community secretary for this year.
