Student Senate Seal
The
Student Senate Seal is the official formal logo of the NCSU Student Senate. It is distinct identifying
element of the Senate as the legislative branch of Student Government, and is not used in other variations
for other parts of Student Government.
Symbolism
The seal incorporates a number of symbolic elements. Foremost is the Memorial Belltower, the most
recognized symbol of the University, which stands for role the Senate plays in serving not just the Student
Body but the University as a whole. Surrounding the Belltower are thirteen diamonds, one for each of the
thirteen colleges and programs with representation in the Senate. Two years are also included. The original
campus Student Government was organized in 1921, and has operated since then. In 1969 the current
Student Body Constitution was ratified, and Student Government took its modern form.
