AN ACT TO CORRECT
SUBSTANTIVE ERRORS IN THE STUDENT BODY STATUTES INTRODUCED BY MISAPPLICATION OF
SENATE AMENDMENTS DURING ENGROSSMENT

WHEREAS, on two occasions amendments made by the Student Senate to
acts of legislation amending the Student Body Statutes failed to appear in the
final engrossed copy of the legislation; and,
WHEREAS, an expectation exists that amendments passed by the Student
Senate become part of the final version of an act of legislation; and,
WHEREAS, for the will of the Student Senate to be
served, these errors must be corrected; now, therefore be it
ENACTED, by
the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:
Section
1. Student Body Statutes, §3-2(c) shall be
moved to §3-3(c).
Section 2. Student Body Statutes §6-1, shall amended be struck and
reinserted as §6-2(a), so that §6-2 reads:
“§6-2. Student Body Documents.
(a)
Student Body Documents Defined. The Student Body Documents shall be defined
as the official Student Body Constitution, as ratified by the Student Body and
amended, if applicable, by a referendum of that Body; as well as the Student
Body Statutes as passed and amended by the Student Senate.
(b)
The Student Government
Office shall publish annually, at the beginning of the fall semester, the Student Body Documents, a letter-sized,
three-ring bound volume containing the Student Body Constitution and these
Statutes. This volume shall be distributed to all Student Government Officials
and, upon request, any other member of the University community.
(c) The Student Government Office shall prepare amended
pages to update the current Student Body
Documents within five (5) class days of the enactment of any amendment to
these Statutes, or the passage of any referendum amending the Student Body
Constitution. These pages shall be distributed to all Student Government
Officials, such that they may have an up-to-date version of the Student Body Documents.”
Section 3. This act shall be effective upon its
enrollment.
