A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SENATE TO CONFIRM ELECTIONS BOARD MEMBERS ON FEBRUARY 18, 2001 WITHOUT THE REQUISITE WAITING PERIOD

Short Title: February 18 Appointments Act (Public)

WHEREAS, the Statutes mandate that the election books shall open on Monday, February 19, 2001; and,

WHEREAS, the elections board opens the elections books; and,

WHEREAS, there is currently not a method in place that would allow a board to be appointed by February 19, 2001; now, therefore be it

ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that §7-2.1(f) shall be amended, effective immediately upon enrollment, by adding the clause, "unless the meeting occurs on February 18, 2001." ;now, therefore be it further

ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that §7-2.1(f) shall be amended, effective at the close of the 2000-2001 session, by striking the clause, "unless the meeting occurs on February 18, 2001."
