A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT TO REAUTHORIZE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO DELTA SIGMA PHI FRATERNITY FOR THE EXPRESS INTENT OF FUNDING AN EVENT KNOWN AS LAWN PARTY

WHEREAS, during the 1999-2000 session of Student Senate, Appropriations Bill 10 allocated $3,350 to Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity; and,
WHEREAS, during the 1999-2000 session of Student Senate, Treasurer Payne allocated an additional $550 to Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity; and,
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 5 of the Student Body Constitution requires that all funds appropriated for use but not expended during the same year remain in the Student Body Funds; and,
WHEREAS, the aforementioned funds were allocated but not expended in the preceding academic year by Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity; and,
WHEREAS the aforementioned funds have not been returned by Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity to the Student Body Funds; now, therefore be it
ENACTED,
by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that the Student Body Treasurer is authorized to collect the $4000 allocated to Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and immediately return it to the Student Body Funds; and, be it furtherENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that $4000 from the unencumbered balance be allocated to Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity for the express purpose of funding an event known as Lawn Party provided that:
- the event shall be held on the North Carolina State University Senate;
- all proceeds, after start-up funds are set aside for the event the following year, shall benefit local charities;
- alcohol shall be prohibited at the event;
- North Carolina State University Student Government's sponsorship shall be recognized in the promotion of the event;
- Delta Sigma Phi shall comply with all reporting requirements for the regular Appropriations process, as outlined in the Finance Packet;
- if the event known as Lawn Party does not occur by September 30, 2001 then Delta Sigma Phi shall reimburse Student Government in the amount of $4000.
