A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT SEEKING A
REPORT ON THE CURRENT STATUS OF APPOINTMENTS TO UNIVERSITY STANDING COMMITTEES
AND TO PROVIDE FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF TO FILL ALL VACANCIES

WHEREAS, University Standing
Committees determine and implement a variety of important
policies throughout the University; and,
WHEREAS, the majority of University Standing Committees
contain seats expressly reserved
for undergraduate students, so as to provide student input into a variety of
crucial University issues; and,
WHEREAS, the University Administration delegates to the Student Body
President the responsibility to fill the undergraduate seats on the University
Standing Committees; and,
WHEREAS, concern has arisen within Student Government regarding the
status of appointments to University Standing Committees; and,
WHEREAS, in order for student input to be maximized on University
Standing Committee, it is necessary for the prompt and full disclosure of all
appointments; and,
WHEREAS, verbal requests for information have not
yielded an appreciable response; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that
the North Carolina State University Student Senate calls for a full report
regarding the status of appointments made to University Standing Committees, to be presented to Student Senate President
no later than December 15, 2000, and, be it further
RESOLVED, that
the North Carolina State University Student Senate mandates that all
undergraduate student vacancies on University Standing Committees be filled no
later than December 31, 2000.
