RESOLUTION 95

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT HONORING THE WEB SERVICES GROUP OF THE

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE PROVOST

Short Title: Web Services Honorarium. (Public)

WHEREAS, the recent trend towards the use of the internet has made online voted the primary choice for voting among students at North Carolina State University; and,

WHEREAS, in order to provide a free and fair election, the security of online voting must be maintained; and,

WHEREAS, less than two hours after a request from Student Government the Web Services Group of the Information Technology Division of the Office of the Provost has provided a new, more secure, version of WRAP, known as WRAP2, in order to maintain the security or Student Government Elections; and,

WHEREAS, on the same day as a request from Student Government the Web Services Group arranged and implemented the secure collocation of the Student Government Elections Server and granted the exclusive use of the vote.ncsu.edu domain; and,

WHEREAS, Harry Nicholos and other members of the Web Services Group have gone above and beyond their professional requirements, responding to urgent elections board requests after midnight on a Sunday evening; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby recognizes

and lauds Harry Nicholos and the Web Services Group for their incredibly willingness to assist Student Government in conducting a free and fair election.
