A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT TO provide for notice on consideration of amendments and RELATED matters

BE IT ENACTED,
by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:Section 1. Student Body Statutes §2-2.17 shall be amended by inserting Section (c) as follows:
(c) Motions to amend. No motions by a Senator to amend legislation shall be in order, except by consent of two-thirds of the Senate, unless the Senator has submitted the amendment to the Senate electronically in the manner prescribed by the President at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting.
Section 2.
Student Body Statutes §2-2.17(e) shall be amended by striking:"All motions to amend legislation shall be written and shall be submitted to the Legislative Secretary at the time of their introduction. The President shall determine whether any amendment is in the nature of a substitute and therefore out of order."
Section 3. Student Body Statutes §2-2.15(d) shall be amended by striking "twenty-four (24) hours" and inserting "forty-eight (48) hours".
Section 4.
Student Body Statutes §2-2-12(b) shall be amended by inserting after "limited or extended.";"A report must be submitted no later than 9 o'clock AM on the Monday prior to a Wednesday Senate meeting in order to be considered at that meeting."
Section 5.
Student Body Statutes §2-2-12(b) shall be amended by inserting after "two-thirds majority of the Senate.";"provided that the notice of intent to offer the motion is sent to all Senators by electronic mail at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the meeting."
Section 6. Student Body Statutes §2-2.9(c) shall be amended by adding;
"No referred legislation shall be considered by committee unless the chair has notified the Senate via electronic mail twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting at which consideration is scheduled."
Section 7 This bill shall be effective upon the adjournment of the meeting at which it is adopted.
