GOVERNMENT BILL 07

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

An act to permanently reschedule the election of the Senate Fall Appointments Commission

 

Short Title: Appointments Commission Reschedule Act (Public)

WHEREAS, having a Fall Appointments Commission in place over the summer allows the commission members to be involved in summer recruitment efforts; and,

WHEREAS, the previous two sessions have suspended rules to elect all or part of the Fall Appointments Commission in the spring; now, therefore be it

ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

Section 1. Student Body Statutes §2-1.2(b) shall be amended by striking:

The Senate shall, at the first meeting of the fall semester, elect from its membership seven Senators, including a chair, to serve as the Commission on the Fall Appointment of First-Year Senators

and inserting:

The Senate shall, at the last meeting of the spring semester, elect from its membership seven Senators, including a chair, to serve as the Commission on the Fall Appointment of First-Year Senators

Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately upon adoption. Should this act be adopted at the final Senate meeting of a spring semester, the Senate shall consider election of a commission in miscellaneous business.
