GOVERNMENT BILL

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
An Act to provide for the conduct of departmental-level elections in each of the several schools and colleges
BE
IT ENACTED, by the North Carolina State
University Student Senate that:
Section
1. Student Body Statutes §7-1 shall be
amended by inserting:
§7-1.19.
Ballot Specificity.
All ballots shall be designed to be
specific to both college and classification. Ballots shall be further specific
to departments, as necessary for elective races added to an election per SBS
§§7-1.2 et seq.
Section
2. Student Body Statutes §7-1.24 shall be
amended by adding: “For department specific races, the voter shall be allowed
to vote in the department of primary residence, as defined by the university’s
electronic records, of his or her first major.”
Section
3. This act shall take effect upon
enrollment.
