AN ACT TO Vacate the Graduate Seat Presently reserved for senator-elect
Matthew vernon keith

WHEREAS, Matthew Vernon Keith,
formerly a student of North Carolina State University, was certified a Senator-elect
by the Elections Commission on or before April 17, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Student Body Statutes §2-2.10 provides that the Student
Senate may vacate a Senator-elect’s seat in the event that the Senator-elect
has failed to take the oath of office after the occurrence of no less than two
Senate meetings; and,
WHEREAS, as of September 29,
2002, Mr. Keith has failed to take the
oath of office; and,
WHEREAS, five meetings of the Student Senate have occurred between
April 18, 2001 and ; and September 29, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, since accepting election, Mr. Keith has been
unreachable by any office or agency of Student Government; and,
WHEREAS, all credible evidence indicates that Mr. Keith is no longer
a student and North Carolina State University and is instead enrolled at East
Carolina University; and,
WHEREAS, vacation of office does not preclude Matthew Vernon Keith
from serving in Student Government Office now or in any time in the future;
now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that
the North Carolina State University Student Senate declares vacant the Graduate
Student Senate seat to which Senator-elect Matthew Vernon Keith was elected in
April 2002.
