RESOLUTION 62

 

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act to praise and laud Doctor Bruce I. Mallette for his illustrious and dedicated career at North carolina state university

 

 


WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette has been associated with North Carolina State University for almost 20 years; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served in the position of Vice Provost for Academic Administration since 1995; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served in the office of University Planning and Analysis from 1984 to 1994 culminating in holding the position of Associate Director, Office of University Planning and Analysis from 1993 to 1994; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette received his Doctorate of Education with a minor in Public Administration in 1988 from North Carolina State University; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served as the staff support for the Academic Affairs and Personnel Committee of the North Carolina State University Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2002; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served on the Provost Search Committee which selected Dr. Kermit Hall to serve as Provost; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served as chair of the Tuition Policy Task force in 1998, allowing student input in this vital forum where it had not been welcome previously; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette served as the Chair of the Educational and Technology Fee Advisory Team from 1998 to 2003; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Dr. Bruce I. Mallette, during his tenure as chair, changed the perception of the Educational and Technology fee from that of a “pork-barrel fee” to a model system of fair and efficient fee management that incorporated significant student involvement in every level of the fee process; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED,  that the North Carolina State University Student Senate awards the highest praise and honors to Dr. Bruce I. Mallette for his distinguished commitment to the best interests of the Student Body of North Carolina State University.

 

 

 

 

 

I hereby certify that this resolution was read twice and adopted by acclamation in the North Carolina State University Student Senate, this 16th day of January 2003.
