AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT MANDATORY MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC SENATE COMMITTEES BE HELD IN THE STUDENT CENTERS AND THAT REFERRED BUSINESS BE CONSIDERED ONLY AT MANDATORY MEETINGS

Requires meetings that consider referred business, including legislation, occur at the student centers. Punitive absences are not assessed for other meetings.

SENATE BILL 59

 

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

An Act To Require That Mandatory Meetings of The Public Senate Committees Be Held In The Student Centers and That Referred Business Be Considered Only At Mandatory Meetings

BE IT ENACTED,     by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.       Student Senate Standing Rule 14 shall be amended by adding:

 

(f) Meeting Location. All meetings of Committees to consider referred business shall take place in the facilities or on the grounds of the University Student Centers, and shall be the only meetings fulfilling the Rule 14(a) biweekly meeting requirement if referred business is before the committee and has not been definitely disposed of. Absences of Senators from other meetings of Committees outside the facilities and grounds of the University Student Centers shall not count towards each SenatorŐs total absences, as defined by Rule 2(f).

 

Section 2.       This act shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
