A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

An act CALL UPON THE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE AN ELECTRONIC MEDIUM FOR SENATORS TO CONTACT THEIR CONSTITUENTS

 

Short Title: Electronic Franking Act   (Public)

WHEREAS,   it is a historic right of members of a legislative assembly to contact their constituency at the public expense; and,

 

WHEREAS,   it is both inefficient and prohibitively expensive to use either the United States or Campus Mail to contact Senator’s constituencies through a traditional franking privilege; and,

 

WHEREAS,   an electronic listserv of a the members of a given constituency would by far be the optimal way for a Senator to contact their constituents; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED,  that the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby calls upon the Information Technology Division to implement or assist in implementing, an electronic means for Senators to contact their constituents on matters of pressing concern.
