GOVERNMENT BILL 133

 

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act TO maximize the availability of student football tickets for student usage

 


WHEREAS,   demand has exceeded supply of student tickets for each conference home game in the 2003 football season; and,

 

WHEREAS,   it is unlikely that demand will decrease given the addition of Miami and Virginia Tech to the ACC; and,

 

WHEREAS,   it is in the interest of the Student Body to maximize the number of students in student seating; now, therefore be it

 

ENACTED,    by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.        Student Body Statutes §9-1.8 shall be amended by striking:

 

§9-1.8. Guest Ticket Policy.

Before each season the Campus Community Committee shall in cooperation with athletics determine if guest ticket limits should be reduced or eliminated for any game.

 

and inserting:

 

§9-1.8. Guest Ticket Policy.

(a)     Football Policy. Before each season the Campus Community Committee shall in cooperation with athletics determine if guest ticket limits should be reduced or eliminated for any game.  Guest tickets shall be available for non-conference games, unless eliminated by the Campus Community Committee.  Guest tickets shall not be available for conference games, unless that game is deemed a “conference exception game”.  For a conference exception game, guest tickets may be available for students in an amount designated by the Campus Community Committee.  The Campus Community Committee shall be empowered to deem a conference exception game, at any time prior to the second football game of the season. Guest ticket limits may be reduced or limited by the Campus Community Committee up to 10 calendar days prior to a game.  Guest ticket policies shall be posted on http://tickets.ncsu.edu.

(b)     Men’s Basketball Policy. Before each season the Campus Community Committee shall in cooperation with athletics determine if guest ticket limits should be reduced or eliminated for any game.  Guest ticket limits may be reduced or eliminated by the Campus Community Committee up to 10 calendar days prior to a game. Guest ticket policies shall be posted on http://tickets.ncsu.edu.

 

Section 2.        This act shall be effective upon adoption.
