PROGRAM BILL 23

 

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act TO AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO HOMECOMING 2004

 


BE IT ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

WHEREAS,   The planning, execution, and activities of Homecoming are open to every student at North Carolina State University; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Homecoming is the largest tradition at North Carolina State

University; and,

 

WHEREAS,   About 5,500 people attended Pack Howl during Homecoming 2003; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Homecoming 2003 had 58 parade entries; and,

 

WHEREAS,   The Homecoming Spirit Competition fosters unity and friendly competition between student organizations; and,

 

WHEREAS,   The 2004 Homecoming Committee has had over 100 students total at the first three planning meetings and new students are continually joining and getting involved; now, therefore

 

be it ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.        The Student Body Treasurer is hereby ordered to transfer $15,000 from the surplus funding of the Student Body Government budget to the NCSU Alumni Association to be used thereafter in defraying costs of student-focused events to be held during the week of Homecoming 2004

 

Section 2.        This funding shall be absolutely limited to deferring the costs of the 2004 Homecoming.  This funding shall be conditional on the agreement of the Homecoming Organization that no past debts exist between it and Student Government.  A detailed budget is requested to be submitted to the NC State Student Senate.

 

Section 3.        This act shall be effective upon its enrollment.
