SENATE RESOLUTION 148

 

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act Impeach Senator Patrick Cleary on The Charges of Abuse of Power and Fraudulent Misrepresentation on Official Documents

 

Short Title: The Impeachment of Senator Patrick Cleary (Senate)

WHEREAS,   Patrick Cleary, a student of North Carolina State University, was duly re-elected to serve as Student Senator in the 84th Session of the North Carolina State University Student Senate; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED,  that the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby impeaches Senator Patrick Cleary on the charges of:

(a)    Abuse of Power, as defined and authorized by section 24 of Chapter 2, Article 2, of the Student Body Statutes; given the specifications:

1.      Senator Cleary improperly obtained at least thirty (30) vouchers to the 2004 Ohio State Football game;

2.      Senator Cleary improperly obtained at least fifty (50) vouchers to the 2004 Miami Football game;

(b)   Fraudulent Misrepresentation on Official Documents, as defined and authorized by section 26 of Chapter 2, Article 2, of the Student Body Statutes; given the specification:

1.      Senator Cleary filed an official letter with the Subcommittee on Ethics containing false statements gathered to support a manufactured version of the events related to his possession of large quantities of ticket vouchers.
