A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

An act to Appropriate Funds to the Compassion in Action Relief Initiative AND in Support of the American Red Cross

WHEREAS,   following the catastrophic hurricane that struck the gulf coast of the United States, NCSU students organized the Compassion in Action relief initiative; and,

 

WHEREAS,   the Compassion in Action initiative is in need of seed funding to allow it purchase items that will be valuable in soliciting further donations and involvement; and,

 

WHEREAS,   it is important that the NCSU Student Government make a contribution to this campus-wide initiative, on behalf of the student body, and especially those who cannot afford to donate as much as they wish they could; now, therefore be it

 

ENACTED,    by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.        Funds in the amount of $1000 shall be allocated from line-item 1401, Appropriated projects, initiatives, and programming, to the NCSU Compassion in Action relief initiative.

 

Section 2.        As much as $250 of the section 1 allocation may be used by the Compassion in Action organizers as capital to support initiatives to further raise funds. The remainder of the allocation shall be donated to the American Red Cross.

 

Section 3.        This act shall be effective upon its enrollment.
