AN ACT TO REALLOCATE UNSPENT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFITTING AND MODERNIZING THE STUDENT SENATE HALL

An act TO Reallocate Unspent Funds for the Purpose of Refitting and Modernizing the Student Senate Hall

WHEREAS, the furniture in the Senate Hall is showing signs of wear-and-tear; maintenance now may avoid outright replacement in the future; and,

WHEREAS, the existence of classroom voting systems has made the implementation of electronic voting cost-feasible to the Student Senate; and,

WHEREAS, an electronic voting system has the potential to drastically reduce the time required to take attendance and recorded votes; and,

WHEREAS, a digital projector, a necessary part of the voting system, will also allow convenient review of amendments and a service to guest presenters; now, therefore be it

ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

Section 1. Line-item 1502 of the 2004-05 Fiscal Year Budget shall be amended by striking:

Office Manager/ Administrative Assistant- Salaries and Benefits

1502 $ 64,000.00

and inserting:

Office Manager/ Administrative Assistant (vacant spring 2005)- Salaries and Benefits

1502 $ 56,000.00

Section 2. The following shall be inserted into the 2004-05 Fiscal Year Budget:

16. Maintenance and upgrades

Senate Hall – Furniture maintenance, trimmings replacement, electronic voting system.

1601 $ 8,000.00

Section 3. This act shall be effective upon its enrollment.
