SENATE RESOLUTION 93

 

 A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An Act To Impeach Senator Tyler Salmon On The Charge Of Neglect of Duty Due to Excessive Absences

 

 

Short Title: Senator Tyler Salmon Impeachment   (Senate)

WHEREAS,    Tyler Salmon, a student of North Carolina State University, became a Student Senator representing the First Year College on September 2005; and,

 

WHEREAS,   the Student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2f, provides that the Student Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations shall review the absences of a Student Senator should the Senator accumulate four (4) absences; and,

 

WHEREAS,   the Student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2e, provides that absences from formal meetings of Senate committees shall be treated as one-half (1/2) a Senate absence; and,

 

WHEREAS,   as of January 25, 2006 Senator Tyler Salmon has missed a total of fourteen (14) Senate roll calls or committee meetings, totaling seven (7) total absences; and,

 

WHEREAS,   in a hearing conducted pursuant to rule on January 25, 2006, the Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations found the absences of Senator Tyler Salmon excessive and recommended impeachment; now; therefore be it

 

RESOLVED,  that the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby impeaches Senator Tyler Salmon on the charge of neglect of duty, as defined and authorized by sections 25 and 9(d) of Chapter 2, Article 2 of the Student Body Statutes; given the specifications:

 

1.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting opening roll call October 12, 2005; and,

2.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting closing roll call October 12, 2005; and,

3.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting opening roll call October 26, 2005; and,

4.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting closing roll call October 26, 2005; and,

5.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting opening roll call November 9, 2005; and,

6.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting closing roll call November 9, 2005; and,

7.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting opening roll call January 18, 2006; and,

8.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Senate meeting closing roll call January 18, 2006; and,

9.      Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on September 26, 2005; and,

10.  Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on October 3, 2005; and,

11.  Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on October10, 2005; and,

12.  Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on November 2, 2005; and,

13.  Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on January 12, 2006; and,

14.  Senator Tyler Salmon missed the Tuition and Fees Committee Meeting on January 24, 2006.

 

I hereby introduce the above resolution for reading in the NCSU Student Senate, pursuant to Student Body Statues §2-2.9(d) and on order of the Committee on Government Operations, this 1st day of February 2006.
