An act TO INCREASE SPONSORING SENATOR ATTENDANCE AT APPROPRIATIONS INTERVIEWS

WHEREAS, student organizations that are applying for
funds through the Appropriations Process are required to have a Sponsoring Senator for
their request; and,
WHEREAS, when student organizations that come before
the committee they maybe nervous or unfamiliar with the interview process; and,
WHEREAS, when the Sponsoring Senator for the student
organization appears with his/her organization at the interview the organization
benefits from his/her attendance; and,
WHEREAS, Senators should make every effort possible to attend their
organizations interview; now, therefore be it
ENACTED, by
the North Carolina State University Student Senate that
Section 1. Student Body Statutes §5-2.11 shall be amended by striking “Insomuch as possible, attend all presentations of their organization to the Appropriations Committee” and inserting “ Senators that miss 50% or more of his/her organizations interviews before the Appropriations Committee shall be given a half absence.”
Section
3. This act shall be effective upon its
enrollment.
