A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED
an act to establish A minimum achievement plan (MAP) for the
87th session of the student government

WHEREAS, the 87th session of
North Carolina State University Student Government is now in place; and,
WHEREAS, we as a Student Government
are committed to helping better the quality of life on and around campus for
our students; and,
WHEREAS, student government
"accountability" has been an important concern of the Student Body in
recent history; and,
WHEREAS, student body officer
elections are often won based on campaign promises and platforms, and the
victors should hold themselves accountable to the Student Body by working to
implement those plans; and,
WHEREAS, Student Body President Bobby
Mills has promised to abolish 8:00 AM exams, ensure the acceptance of credit
and debit cards across campus, extend dining hall hours, and require advisors
to be qualified and trained; and,
WHEREAS, Student Senate President T.
Greg Doucette has promised to expand Homecoming funding, amend or abolish the
Administration's recently-adopted alcohol policy, and fight for tax-free
textbooks and a four-year tuition guarantee; and,
WHEREAS, Student Body Treasurer Dave
Foxx has promised to help student organizations create websites for publicity,
establish an online grading system of sponsoring senators for student groups
with appropriations requests, and work to procure a student special at
BojangleÕs; and,
WHEREAS, Student Chief Justice Lock
Whiteside has promised to raise the burden of proof to innocent until proven
guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, hold workshops and events relating to alcohol
awareness, and reform several iniquities within the judicial process; and,
WHEREAS, publicly declaring these
minimum objectives for the 87th session of the Student Government is a critical
step in ensuring their implementation and remaining accountable to the
students; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina State University Student Government hereby charges itself with accomplishing, at bare minimum, the foregoing objectives during its 87th session.
