A BILL TO BE ENTILED AN ACT TO ESTABLISH AN NEED STUDENT GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABLE STUDENT GOVERNMENT AUDIT SCHEDULE

 

 


Short Title: Accountable Audits Act

WHEREAS, every student pays $8.85 yearly to Student Government as part of a student fee; and,

 

WHEREAS, currently the University only audits the Student Government budget if a problem arises; and,

 

WHEREAS,   to prevent future problems; and,

 

WHEREAS, there is a call for a more accountably process and transparent process in Student Government expenditures; now therefore be it,

 

ENACTED, by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.  Article 1 of the Chapter 5 Student Body Statutes shall be amended and creation of a new ¤5-1.24.b the following inserted:

 

¤5-1.2418.b External Audits

The Student Body Treasurer shall request a university audit every two years.  Results of the audit shall be made available to requesting parties and presented to the Student Senate Finance Committee.  Within thirtysixty, 3600, days of the completion of the audit, the Student Body Treasurer will create a plan of action to improve problem areas for presentation to the Finance Committee and implementation.  If Student Body Treasure has not submitted a plan of action within thirty days, that responsibility shall fall to the Finance Committee.  Upon completion, the finance committee shall report the plan of action to the Student Body President and the Student Senate.  After review, the Student Body Treasurer shall be responsible for the implementation of the plan of action.

 

Section 2.  This act shall be effective upon enrollment.
