A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTILED

 AN ACT TO EXPEL SENATOR GLUCK ON THE CHARGE OF NEGLECT OF DUTY DUE TO EXCESSIVE ABSENCES

WHEREAS, Jeff Gluck, a student of North Carolina State University, was elected Student Senator representing the College of Natural Resources in April of 2006; and,

 

WHEREAS, the student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2f, provides that the Student Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations shall review the absences of a Student Senator should that senator accumulate four (4) absences; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2e, provides that absences from formal meetings of Senate committees shall be treated as one-half (1/2) a Senate absence; and,

WHEREAS, as of October 28th 2007 Senator Gluck has missed a total of seventeen (17) Senate roll calls or committee meetings, totaling eight and one-half (8 ½) absences; and,

WHEREAS, in a hearing conducted pursuant to rule on January 28, 2007, the Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations found the absences of Senator Gluck excessive and recommended expulsion; now therefore be it,

 

RESOLVED that the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby expels Senator Gluck on the charge of neglect of duty, as defined and authorized by §2-2.38. Expulsion for non-attendance of the Student Body Statutes; given the specifications:

1.  Senator Gluck missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate on April 25, 2007,

2.  Senator Gluck missed the closing roll call fro the Student Senate on April 25, 2007,

3.  Senator Gluck missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate on April 27, 2007,

4.  Senator Gluck missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate on April 27, 2007,

5.  Senator Gluck missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate on September 5, 2007,

6.  Senator Gluck missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate on September 5, 2007,

7.  Senator Gluck missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate on September 23, 2007

8.  Senator Gluck missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate on September 23, 2007

9. Senator Gluck missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate on October 3, 2007,
