A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTILED AN ACT TO IMPROVE OR UPGRADE THE CURRENT STUDENT TICKETING SYSTEM

WHEREAS, students currently face the constant issue of being wrongly penalized for basketball or football games; and,
WHEREAS, many of these penalized students either did attend the games or cancelled their tickets before the deadline; and,
WHEREAS, recurring malfunctions exist in the ticketing system, which result in errors within the on-demand and 2nd claim period; and,
WHEREAS, the e-mail notification system has proven unreliable during the second claim period; and,
WHEREAS, during basketball season many students were prevented from acquiring tickets for exhibition games when many seats were still available; and,
WHEREAS, students are being assigned upper level seats at basketball games, when there are large numbers of either empty or unassigned seats in the 100 sections; and,
WHEREAS, the current admission policy of assigned seats based on lottery could potentially benefit from modification; and,
WHEREAS, the current Ticket Return software system needs to better manage tickets for the students of North Carolina State University; now therefore be it,
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina State Student Senate call for a search for an upgraded or much improved ticketing system to be implemented in the 2008-2009 academic year; and,
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina State Student Senate issue a general referenda to determine student opinion on admission policy for basketball games; and,
RESOLVED, that the referenda address issues relating to ticketing and campout policy; and be it further,
RESOLVED, that the Campus Community committee of the North Carolina State Student Senate continue to serve the students by looking for ways to more effectively issue and respond to penalties.
