A BILL TO BE ENTILED AN ACT THAT ALLOWS THE SENDING OF BULK EMAILS TO ALL NC STATE STUDENTS THAT WILL INFORM OF IMPORTANT STUDENT VOTING DAYS

 

 


Short Title: Student Vote Awareness Act

WHEREAS,   Current student voter turnout, for subjects which directly affect us as students, (i.e. fee referendum and student elections) is low in proportion with the total number of students eligible to vote; and,

 

WHEREAS,   Many students say they do not vote on voting days because they “could not remember the website”, or simply “forgot it was voting day”; now, therefore, be it,

 

RESOLVED,  On important student voting days an e-mail will be sent out to each student that serves as a reminder and provides a hyperlink to the website where they should go. So as not to abuse the privilege, an e-mail is only allowed to be sent twice a year, and those two times are decided on by NCSU Senate; and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, The passing of this bill enables the first, and only, e-mail of this 2007-2008 school    year, to be sent out on March 25th at   12:00 AM.

SUBJECT:    VOTE TODAY- Student elections
               
BODY:       North Carolina State University Students,
 
Make sure you have your say in who will represent you this year.

Also, remember that run-off elections are April 1st.

All students enrolled at North Carolina State University will receive the e-mail; and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, senate will need to remain in contact and good standing with Michelle Johnson of Registration and Records as well as, the staff at ITD, in order to provide them with the structure, date, and time the e-mails should be sent 30 days prior to their sending.
