A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act honoring RAndy Lait of University Dining with the

2009 jenny chang outstanding student service award

Section 1.       Statutory Authority. This resolution is adopted pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Sections 5(d) of the Student Body Constitution, and Chapter 2, Rule 17(c) of the Student Body Statutes.

 

WHEREAS, the Jenny Chang Outstanding Student Service Award is given to any university

administrative unit acting to the benefit of the student body, above and beyond the expectations of Student Body and the Student Government; and,

 

WHEREAS, Randy Lait, associate director of University Dining, has consistently listened to

studentŐs needs; and,

 

WHEREAS, he has met with the Senate committee on University Affairs at multiple points during the year; and,

 

WHEREAS, Lait and University Dining have renovated The Atrium to improve the appearance of the outside seating area and added hours to the dining establishments in Talley Student center; and,      

 

WHEREAS, Lait and University Dining will offer a commuter meal plan in the coming academic year, as per the SenateŐs resolution; and,        

 

WHEREAS, during campout, Fountain Dining Hall was opened after hours providing free meals for students attending campout; now therefore be it,

 

WHEREAS,    for his tireless dedication to voices of the Student Body and Senate and his efforts to ensure each individual studentŐs dining needs at met, Randy Lait is deserving of the 2009 Jenny Chang Outstanding Student Service Award; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the North Carolina State University Student Senate thanks Randy Lait and the staff of University Dining for their outstanding service to the Student Body, and hereby awards them the 2009 Jenny Chang Outstanding Student Service Award.
