A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTILED AN ACT TO ENCOURAGE UNIVERSITY DINING TO CREATE COMMUTER MEAL PLANS

WHEREAS,  University Dining presently offers a variety of meal plans for students, including the Meals Per Week, Block, and Freedom plans; and,

 

WHEREAS,  there are currently no meals plans exclusively targeted toward off campus students and their dining needs; and, 

 

WHEREAS, the majority of NC State’s students reside off campus and their dining needs should be taken into consideration; and, 

 

WHEREAS,   many universities in the UNC system, such as ECU, UNC, UNC-Wilmington, UNC-Charlotte, and others, give the option of commuter meal plans to their off campus students; and,

 

WHEREAS,  the implementation of commuter meal plans would be mutually beneficial, providing students with more options and campus dining establishments with more customers; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Student Senate encourages University Dining to create meals plans to meet the needs of off campus students;  and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, that we request that University Dining incorporate senators and students in all discussions pertaining to the creation of commuter meals plans; and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, that we would like to commend University Dining for their past and continued receptiveness to the needs of students.
