A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED
An act To EXPEL SENATOR GLENN MORAVEN ON THE CHARGE OF NEGLECT OF DUTY DUE TO EXCESSIVE ABSENCES

WHEREAS, Glenn Moraven, a student of North Carolina State University, was appointed as a Student Senator representing CHASS Juniors by the Student Senate President and confirmed by the Senate on October 2008; and,
WHEREAS, the Student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2f, provides that the Student Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations shall review the absences of a Student Senator should the Senator accumulate four (4) absences; and,
WHEREAS, the Student Body Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1, Rule 2e, provides that absences from formal meetings of Senate committees shall be treated as one-half (1/2) a Senate absence; and,
WHEREAS, as of January 28, 2009, Senator Moraven has missed a total of fourteen (14) Senate roll calls or committee meetings, totaling eight (8) total absences; and,
WHEREAS, in a hearing conducted pursuant to rule on January 7, 2008, the Senate Standing Committee on Government Operations found the absences of Senator Moraven excessive and recommended expulsion; now; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby expels Senator Moraven on the charge of neglect of duty, as defined and authorized by sections 38 and 9(a) of Chapter 2, Article 2 of the Student Body Statutes, given the following specifications:
1. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate meeting on October 1, 2008;
2. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate meeting on October 15, 2008;
3. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate meeting on October 15, 2008;
4. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate meeting on October 29, 2008;
5. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate meeting on November 12, 2008;
6. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for the Student Senate meeting on November 12, 2008;
7. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for the Student Senate meeting on November 19, 2008;
8. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for Student Senate meeting on November 19, 2008;
9. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for Student Senate meeting on December 3, 2008;
10. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for Student Senate meeting on December 3, 2008;
11. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for Student Senate meeting on January 14, 2009;
12. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for Student Senate meeting on January 14, 2009;
13. Senator Moraven missed the opening roll call for Student Senate meeting on January 28, 2009; and,
14. Senator Moraven missed the closing roll call for Student Senate meeting on January 28, 2009.
We hereby introduce the above resolution for reading in the NCSU Student Senate, pursuant to Student Body Statues ¤2-2.9(a) and on order of the Committee on Government Operations, this 4th day of February 2009.
