A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO EXEMPLIFY GRATITUDE FOR SENATE PRESIDENT THOMAS GREGORY DOUCETTE

 


Short Title:  Senate President Doucette Appreciation Act

WHEREAS, Thomas Gregory “T. Greg” Doucette has served as Student Senate President for two terms in both the 87th Session (2007-2008) and 88th Session (2008-2009) with outstanding commitment; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Thomas Gregory Doucette also served as a Student Senator in the 86th Session (2006-2007), serving as Chairman of the Permanent Committee on Appropriations and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee on Tuition and Fees; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Thomas Gregory Doucette also served in the 80th Session (2000-2001) where he was elected President Pro Tempore, and in the 78th Session (1998-1999) as a first-year Senator and member of the Standing Committee on Government Operations; and,

 

WHEREAS,  He has directly authored or sponsored over 51 pieces of legislation in the N.C. State University Student Senate, including the Ethics in Leadership Act, the Student Fee Containment Act, the 21st Century Student Government Act, and the Burden of Proof Restoration Act, as well as creating the Student Government’s annual student fee referenda; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Thomas Gregory Doucette will graduate on May 9th, 2009, leaving N.C. State University Student Government; and, 

 

WHEREAS,  He has contributed to N.C. State University Student Government by serving as the presiding officer of “the single most distinguished student deliberative assembly ever conceived in the State of North Carolina;” now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that N.C. State University Student Senate, on behalf of the Student Government and the Student Body, extends its appreciation to Thomas Gregory “T. Greg” Doucette for his services to N.C. State University and its Student Government.
