A BILL TO BE ENTILED AN ACT TO SUPPORT NC STATE E-COUNCIL’S INVOLVEMENT IN STEM EXPO THROUGH FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP

WHEREAS, The NC State E-Council is working with the Wake County Public School System to plan and execute a STEM Expo on April 14th; and,

 

WHEREAS,  The STEM Expo is a collaboration between NC State and the Engineering Academy at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. Students and parents in the Wake County Public School System are invited to interact with NC State student organizations, faculty, and staff to learn about the importance and significance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in the world today; and,

 

WHEREAS,  The STEM Expo is open to the public and will be advertised extensively to the Wake County Public School Systems. All Kindergarten through 12th grade students and parents in the area are encouraged to attend; and,

 

WHEREAS,  The STEM Expo is a great recruitment opportunity for NC State and the STEM-related colleges and organizations. It will display the opportunities NC State provides to its students and the many applications of STEM values; and,

 

WHEREAS, E-Council has requested $2,350 from the Student Senate Finance Committee; and,

 

WHEREAS,  This council for the College of Engineering is fee-funded and therefore ineligible for Appropriations; now therefore be it,

 

RESOLVED, That the NC State Student Senate will allocate $2,350 to E-Council for their participation in the STEM Expo; and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, That if the full amount of $2,350 is not used, then the remainder will be returned to the Finance Committee; and be it further,

 

RESOLVED, That this bill shall take effect upon enrollment.
