WHEREAS, the Student Organization Resource Center
says there is a known demand from the
student body for computer projectors; and,
WHEREAS, computer projector equipment is currently available for education majors at the
College of Education Media Center in Poe hall; and,
WHEREAS, the libraries have the policy, procedures, and staffing already in place to facilitate
the lending of projector equipment; and,
WHEREAS, Joe Sevits, an NCSU Library Associate for Student Engagement, received two
confirmations that the Library will provide the staff support for lending projectors
out (under the existing 24-hour tech lending service), the IT expertise for selecting
the projector model(s), and the financial support to maintain and replace projector
equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Libraries cannot immediately serve this demand with their lending programs
under current budget constraints; and,
WHEREAS, adding this lending service would not place a significant burden on our resources
or require lengthy delays prior to implementation; now therefore be it,
RESOLVED, that the NCSU
Student Senate hereby acquire 6 computer
projectors from NCSU Materials Support Surplus; and be it further,
RESOLVED, this equipment
be transferred to the library's lending service;
and be it further,
RESOLVED, that it is recommended that the Libraries feature projectors on the electronic
displays in the library; and be it further,
RESOLVED, that it is recommended that the Libraries add projectors to tech lending publicity throughout the Libraries website.
