SENATE RESOLUTION 41
Chairman Sarah Lindh submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 41, "An Act to Confirm Diana Tingen as Judicial Assistant", to the Student Senate on Wednesday, February 18th 2009, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, February 18th 2009 recommendations, with 0 members voting in the affirmative and 3 in the negative:
As provided by Senate Rule, the committee requests that the Senate President place Senate Resolution 41, on the calendar for second reading.
Attendance:
There were three (3) members (Chiang, Lindh, Jacquelyn Smith) present.
There were two (2) members (Brackett, D. Johnson) absent.
A quorum was present.
Purpose of Legislation:
Tengen was nominated for Judicial Assistant to Chief Justice Whiteside and was brought to committee for confirmation.

Absent.
Debate:
Tengen was not in attendance for his confirmation; the committee felt that the nominee could not be confirmed without an interview or statement explaining his/her absence or desire for the position.
