NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT SENATE
SESSION 2000-2001

COMMITTEE REPORT
Report No. CL-01

GOVERNMENT BILL 14

Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Government Bill 14, "Football Ticket Distribution", on Wendesday, December 6, 2000, on behalf of the Campus Life Committee, and pursuent to its December 6, 2000 recommendations, by unamimous consent:

Attendance:

There were five (5) Senators (Ballenger, Cox, DiColandrea, Fabricius, Pless.) present;

There were four (4) Senators (Douglas, Jeffrey Hunter, Kalra, Robertson.) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

This bill was introduced in the midst of the Fall 2000 Football season after concerns arose that the athletics department was freely altering ticket policy.

Background Information:

In the past, Senate adopted ticket distribution policies prior to athletic seasons. After the events of spring 2000, senate involvement into distribution came into question.

Recommendations:

Newer proposals are more comprehensive of ticket policy and require less modification to be consistent with current practice, as this bill contains policies already downrated. Consistent with the sponsor's recommendation, the committee has discontinued all consideration of this bill, and does not recommend any further consideration by the Senate.
