SENATE RESOLUTION S05

Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution S05, "Ticket Distribution Policy Act", on Thursday, December 7, 2000, on behalf of the Campus Life Committee, and pursuent to its December 6, 2000 recommendations, by unamimous consent:

Attendance:

There were five (5) Senators (Ballenger, Cox, DiColandrea, Fabricius, Pless.) present;

There were four (4) Senators (Douglas, Jeffrey Hunter, Kalra, Robertson.) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

Senate Resolution SRS S05, the Ticket Distribution Policy Act, is designed to re-incorporate ticket distribution into the realm of Student Senate and Student Government.

Background Information:

Senate has regularly adopted Ticket Policies throughout the last decade. The current statutes fail to explain if and how Senate is to adopt such policies.

Debate:

The committee agreed that it was very important to re-involve Student Senate in the policy making process for student ticket distribution.

Recommendations:

The committee makes no recommendations at this time. The committee intends to give additional consideration at their 1/10/2001 meeting, after exploring the specifics of what athletics would seek in a long-term relationship.

Committee Amendments:

Senator Fabricius introduced a revised version of the bill, which is attached to this report. The committee will vote on the proposed changes at it's 1/10/2001 meeting.
