SENATE RESOLUTION 134
Chairman Tracy Hutcherson submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 134, "A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO IMPEACH SENATOR SCOTT STEPHENSON ON THE CHARGES OF ABUSE OF POWER AND NEGLECT OF DUTY", on Monday, February 28th 2005, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, February 23rd 2005 recommendations, by general consent:
As provided by Senate Rule, the committee requests that the Senate President place Senate Resolution 134, on the calendar for second reading.
Attendance:
There were seven (7) Members (Birdsell, Chichwak, Cleary, Heard, Hutcherson, Jones, Jason K. Thornton) present.
There were two (2) Members (Ortega, Summey) absent.
A quorum was present.
The following officials were also present: Fabricius, Langley, Mital Patel, Stephenson, Sarah Thornton, Hyde, Pierson
Debate:
Senator Scott Stephenson appeared and refuted all specifications.
Recommendations:
Report favorably and schedule Impeachment Trial on Senator Scott Stephenson.
Committee Amendments:
- The following specifications were deleted:
(a) 1.

(b) 4.
- Remove all quotations from the words Tickets and Vouchers
- Strike: "Senator Scott Stephenson encouraged Senator Erin Lam to equally split over thirty (30) leftover vouchers from the NC State and FSU football game;"
- Insert: "Senator Scott Stephenson encouraged Senator Erin Lam to equally and willingly split twenty (20) to thirty (30) illegally acquired vouchers for the Florida State vs. North Carolina State University football game in the 2004 season;"
- Strike: "Senator Scott Stephenson split over thirty (30) vouchers between he and Senator Erin Lam at the NC State and FSU football game."
- Insert: "Senator Scott Stephenson knowingly and willingly split twenty (20) to thirty (30) illegally acquired vouchers with Senator Erin Lam for the Florida State vs. North Carolina State University football game in the 2004 season."
