SENATE RESOLUTION 19

Chairman Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 19, "Associate Director of Community Service for Nightwalk Confirmation", on Monday, April 26th 2004, on behalf of the Select Committee on Appointments, and pursuant to its Sunday, April 25th 2004 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were eleven (11) Members (Fabricius, Fulcher, Hinton, James, Moody, Ortega, Sivakumar, Small, Spencer, Stephenson, Sarah Thornton) present.

There were zero (0) Members absent.

A quorum was present.

Purpose of Legislation:

Confirms Mr. Patrick Buffkin as Associate Director of Community Service for Nightwalk.

Recommendations:

Mr. Buffkin currently serves in the Student Senate, and therefore cannot be confirmed into the executive position due to dual-office holding limits. As immediate past chair, Mr. Buffkin is well qualified to lead the project.

The committee tabled the confirmation so that it could be determined if there was support for shifting the nature of the nightwalk chair towards the Senate, adding a vice-chair from the Senate, or other such proposals.
