AN ACT TO REDEFINE SENATE COMPOSITION TO DISCONTINUE APPORTIONMENT OF COLLEGES BY CLASS

BE IT ENACTED by the NC State University Student Senate that:

Section 1.?§2-3.2 (b) of the Student Body Statutes shall be amended to read:

"(b) Representation by the Senators shall be divided first amongst the incoming freshman and all other classes, and then amongst the Schools and Colleges such that each Senator represents, as nearly as possible, an equal number of students; however, each recognized School or College shall elect at least one (1) Senator; and"

Section 2.?§2-3.4 of the Student Body Statutes shall be amended to read:

"§2-3.4. Current apportionment.

Each school and college shall be represented by the following numbers of Senators:

(a) freshman from all Schools and Colleges - nine (9);

(b) CALS - eight (8);

(c) Design - one (1);

(d) Education and Psychology - two (2);

(e) Engineering - eleven (11);

(f) Forest Resources - two (2);

(g) CHASS - six (6);

(h) Management - five (5);

(i) PAMS - three (3);

(j) Textiles - three (3);

(k) Graduate - five (5);

(l) Veterinary Medicine - one (1);

(m) First-Year - three (3);

(n) Life-long Education - three (3)."

Section 3.?This act shall take effect upon enrollment. At such time all Senators elected or appointed to a seat within a College or School shall default to an at-large seat for that College or School.
