AN ACT TO REDEFINE THE POSITION OF SENATE WEBMASTER AND TO CREATE THE POSITION OF SG WEBMASTER

BE IT ENACTED by the NC State University Student Senate that:

 

Section 1.        Student Body Statutes §2-1 Rule 19(g) shall be amended to read as follows:
 “
(g) Senate Webmaster. The President may appoint from the membership of the Senate a Senate Webmaster, who shall work along with the SG Webmaster (§3-6) to maintain the Senate’s presence on the World Wide Web. The Senate Webmaster shall delegate maintenance duties to the SG Webmaster whenever possible, but shall retain authority over the content pertaining to the Senate. The Senate Webmaster shall ensure the internet availability of all materials deemed appropriate by the Senate or the Campus Life Committee, including but not limited to the Student Body Documents, the most recent version of all legislation, all Senate voting records, directories of current Senators, and current calendars and journals.”

 

Section 2.        Student Body Statutes §3-3(b) shall be amended by striking “and (iii) the Elections Board and its chair (SBS §7-),” and inserting “(iii) the Elections Board and its chair (SBS §7-2.4), and (iv) the SG Webmaster (SBS §3-6)” so that §3-3(b) reads:

 “(b) The President shall appoint (i) the chairs of special Student Government committees, (ii) the Student Body Auditor (SBS §5-25), (iii) the Elections Board and its chair (SBS §7-2.4), and (iv) the SG Webmaster (SBS §3-6), subject to the approval of a simple majority of the Senate.”

 

 Section 3.       Student Body Statutes Chapter 3 shall be amended by adding a §3-6, as follows:

“ §3-6. SG Webmaster.

(a)     The President shall appoint a Student Government Webmaster, subject to the majority approval of the Senate.

(b)     The SG Webmaster shall ensure that the SG website has a inform graphic identity, and shall serve as webmaster for the executive staff and for any other branch or division of the student government that lacks their own webmaster. The SG Webmaster shall provide or post directories of all Student Government Officials, summaries of current executive projects, the current Student Government Budget, online polls, and a discussion forum, in addition to any other material deemed appropriate by the Student Government.

(c)     The involvement of the SG Webmaster in the upkeep of the Senate website is at the discretion of the Senate Webmaster. If the Senate President does not appoint a Senate Webmaster, the Student Government Webmaster shall ensure the internet availability of all materials deemed appropriate by the Senate or the Campus Life Committee, including but not limited to the Student Body Documents, the most recent version of all legislation, all Senate voting records, directories of current Senators, and current calendars and journals. In the event the Senate Webmaster fails to fulfill any of his or her duties, those duties shall default to the SG Webmaster.”

 

Section 4.        This act shall become effective upon its enrollment.
