A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO ABSOLVE STUDENT SENATE OF RESPONSIBILITIES IN REGARDS TO TICKET DISTRIBUTION AND TO REMOVE SAID RESPONSIBILITIES FROM THE STUDENT BODY STATUTES

 

Short Title: Ticket Distribution Relinquishment Act (Public)

WHEREAS, both current practice and the text of the Student Body Statutes leave Student Senate's role in ticket distribution policy formation and implementation unclear to the senate, the student body, and the athletics department; and,

WHEREAS, the vague and powerless responsibilities assigned to the Committee on Campus Life impede the successful execution of the committees varied duties; now; therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the NC State University Student Senate declares its separation from the operations of ticket distribution and the establishment of policies for such; and, be it further

ENACTED, by that the NC State University Student Senate that:

Section 1. Student Body Statutes §2-1 Rule 10 (b) shall be amended by striking "Ticket Distribution Policies (SBS §9-1 and §9-2)":

"b) Committee on Campus Life. The Committee on Campus Life shall be responsible for promotion of Senate among the Student Body, creation and distribution of materials concerning Senate, including all official publications, communication between Senate and the surrounding community, community service efforts, maintaining Senate bulletin boards and kiosks, providing a report to campus media after each Senate meeting, policies concerning University Housing, the Student Media Authority, the Inter-Residence Council, the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, and athletics, Ticket Distribution Policies (SBS §9-1 and §9-2), and coordination and implementation of Feed Raleigh and Homecoming. The Committee on Campus Life shall provide a Senate liaison to the Student Media Authority and the Inter-Residence Council."

 

Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately upon adoption by the Senate.
