RESOLUTION 39

 

A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED

An act to CALL for the creation of a university commission with the purpose of finding solutions for substance abuse and illegal substance usage among ncsu students

 

 

WHEREAS, under-age alcohol use, binge drinking, and illegal substance abuse are all serious problems facing colleges and universities around the nation, including North Carolina State University; and

 

WHEREAS, if educational solutions were conjectured and implemented to solve substance                              abuse, the North Carolina State University community would experience less                                  crime, spend less money on the consequences of drugs/alcohol, relieve liability                           for such actions, and experience a large increase in academic achievement;                                 therefore be it

 

RESOLVED,  by the North Carolina State University Student Senate that the Student Body                             President work with IRC, OCRA and other students to charter a diverse student                              advisory committee of at least 5 to serve on and with the Campus Community                            Coalition every year.
