WHEREAS, the furniture in the Senate Hall is showing
signs of wear-and-tear; maintenance now may avoid outright replacement in the
future; and,
WHEREAS, the existence of classroom voting systems has made the
implementation of electronic voting cost-feasible to the Student Senate; and,
WHEREAS, an electronic voting system has the potential to
drastically reduce the time required to take attendance and recorded votes;
and,
WHEREAS, a digital projector, a necessary part of the voting system,
will also allow convenient review of amendments and a service to guest
presenters; now, therefore be it
ENACTED, by
the North Carolina State University Student Senate that:
Section
1. Line-item 1502 of the 2004-05 Fiscal Year
Budget shall be amended by striking:
Office Manager/
Administrative Assistant- Salaries and Benefits
1502 $ 64,000.00
and
inserting:
Office Manager/
Administrative Assistant (vacant spring 2005)- Salaries and Benefits
1502
$ 56,000.00

2. The following shall be inserted into the
2004-05 Fiscal Year Budget:

Senate
Hall – Furniture maintenance, trimmings replacement, electronic voting system.
