A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTILED AN ACT TO INCREASE SEATING FOR NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY MARCHING BAND.

WHEREAS, the North Carolina State University Marching Band has increased by 46 students from the previous 2007-2008 school year; and,

WHEREAS, the band also known as The Power Sound of the South is a crucial component to student morale and intensity at football games; and,

WHEREAS, marching band students are required to attend all games to help promote success of the team; and,

WHEREAS, the five rows behind the band constitute less than 1.5% of General Admission student tickets; now therefore be it,

RESOLVED, that North Carolina State University Student Senate hereby directs the Athletic Department to allocate no more than the remaining five rows in section 113 to North Carolina State University Marching Band Students; and be it further,

RESOLVED, that this shall only apply to football game ticket; and be it further,

RESOLVED, that the Student Senate strongly encourages that in the future student groups

explore alternative options to accommodate increased membership at athletic

events.
