Senator HINES submitted the following report regarding ProgramBill 13, "An Act to Appropriate Funds for Politically Incorrect", on September 16, 2000, on behalf of Finance Committee;

Purpose of the Legislation:

Funding for Politically Incorrect.

Recommendations:

The committee reviewed the Program Bill that was submitted by Treasurer Anthony for $4000 to be allocated to the UAB for Politically Incorrect. The committee decided that Treasurer Anthony would encourage the UAB to submit a Finance Packet requesting these funds instead of pursuing the Program Bill. We did not kill the Program Bill but the committee felt that there was no reason for UAB to seek this money outside of the Fall Allocations Process.

The Committee also reviewed the Finance Packet for the benefit of the "new" senators and discussed ways to handle the Fall Allocations process more effectively.

The Committee discussed several goals for the year including…

1. Reviewing budgets for those organizations that receive Student Fees.
2. Setting a standard for the content of Program Bills.
3. Getting the word out about Fall & Spring Allocations so that Campus Organizations will not be in the dark about the process.
