PROGRAM BILL 67

Senator Becky Hines submitted the following report regarding Program Bill 67, "A Bill to Allocate Funds to Human Rights Week", on Monday, March 5, 2001, on behalf of the Finance Committee, and pursuent to its February 26, 2001 recommendations, with 10 members voting in the affirmative and in the negative:

Attendance:

There were ten (10) Senators (Anthony, Bell, Cooper, Croom, Ducote, Gray, Hansman, Hines, Reed, Karl Smith.) present;

There were zero (0) Senators () absent;

A quorum was present.

Background Information:

Human Rights Week has been on NCSU Campus for years. The committee that usually handles this week long of activities has not been stable for many years. Now that the Vice Provost of African American Affairs is heading the committee we are sure that Human Rights Week will be better than ever.

Recommendations:

The committee recommends that Student Government provide funding for Human Rights Week.

Committee Amendments:

Change the requested $2000 to $1200.
