COMMITTEE REPORT
Report No. GO-43
SENATE RESOLUTION S11
Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution S11, "Robertson Impeachment", on Monday, February 26, 2001, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuent to its February 26, 2001 recommendations, by unamimous consent:
As provided by Senate Rule 12(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place SR S11 on the calendar for second reading.
There were eight (8) Senators (Brown, Burgess-Ford, Carlson, Denton, Engler, Fabricius, Mangum, Mcilmail.) present;
There was one (1) Senator (Davis.) absent;
A quorum was present.
This act impeaches Senator Robertson for excess unexcused absences. This is consistent with the provisions of Senate Rule 2 and SBS Chapter 2, Article 2.
Senator Robertson is alleged to have missed six senate roll calls and committee meetings, without excuse. The Student Body Statutes provide Senators shall be charged with excessive unexcused absences if they exceed 6 such unexcused roll calls or committee meetings.
The Senator was absence without excuse from the November 1, 2000 Senate meeting's closing roll call. The Senator asserted that the absence had been excused. No written evidence of that fact could be found, and the committee did not recall excusing or hearing that absence.
The committee recommends the Senate consider this act at its earliest convenience.
