GOVERNMENT BILL 86
Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Government Bill 86, "An Act to Revise Chapter Five of the Student Body Statutes and Include Further Definition of the Fall and Spring Appropriations Process and to Provide Corrective Renumeration of References", on Sunday, April 1, 2001, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuent to its March 26, 2001 recommendations, with 4 members voting in the affirmative and 0 in the negative:
As provided by Senate Rule 12(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place GB 86 on the calendar for second reading.
There were six (6) Senators (Burgess-Ford, Carlson, Davis, Denton, Engler, Fabricius.) present;
There were three (3) Senators (Brown, Mangum, Mcilmail.) absent;
A quorum was present.
The Finanical Services Reform Act is a general revision to SBS chapter 5. The bill specfically revises the allocations process, adding the allocations packet to the SBS.
There was brief dicussion on if the Finance Packet would be too restrictive within the Statutes. The author explained that the hope was the Treasurer would be able to get an Allocations Packet out quicker and with greater authority.
The Committee on Government Operations recommends the Senate consider Government Bill 86.
