Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Government Bill 47, "An Act to provide for notice on consideration of amendments and related matters", on Wendesday, March 20, 2002, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its March 6, 2002 recommendations, by general consent:

Attendance:

There were seven (7) Senators (Denton, Fabricius, Joyner, Mangum, Tatum, White, Wright) present;

There are one (1) Senator (Brown) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

The Senate Efficiency Act creates regulations relating to the process amendments to legislation on the floor.

Debate:

A sponsor of the bill suggested that GB 83, the Committee Adminstration Act, would solve many of the issues involved in this act, and that it could be discontinued.

Recommendations:

The Committee recommends no further action on the Senate Efficiency Act.
